How and What Can I Donate?

There are many ways that you can support our food bank. Your time, talent, and treasure are all valuable. The food pantry could not survive without the contributions from members of our community, both individuals and corporate, that support us and our mission.

Financial Contributions

One of the easiest ways to support the Spartan Food Pantry is through monetary donations. For every $1 donated to the food pantry, we are able to purchase $8 worth of groceries through our partnership with the Northern Illinois Food Bank. We are a 501(c)(3) organization.

Volunteering

From unloading food and stocking shelves to providing a smiling face to those in need, our volunteers are what make the Spartan Food Pantry an inviting and supportive place for the families we serve. If you would like to volunteer individually or with your family, teammates, or coworkers, the food pantry provides a great opportunity to have a positive impact on members of your community. Volunteer shifts usually run from about 3:30 to 6:30 on the days the pantry is open. If you are interested, click the link below.

Nonmonetary Contributions

In addition to food, we are often in need of other items that people often take for granted. Warm winter coats, lunch boxes, and backpacks are just a few examples of items that have been donated to the pantry for distribution to our families. If you have an idea for something that you or your organization could contribute to our pantry, please contact us. You can also peruse our Amazon wishlists for other items that we update regularly.
